Don’t miss the 2023 World Rowing Virtual Coaches Conference
Going from Friday 3rd until Tuesday 7th March 2023, the conference will be a mixture of webinars and Zoom sessions where participants can interact and ask questions of the speakers.
The intro session will be led by Paul Thompson, who coached gold medal winning crews in Australia, Great Britain, and China. He is now back in Australia as the Performance Director and as he reflects on his success, he will talk about the common themes which have enabled him to establish medal winning programmes.
2022 was a full season of exciting racing across all our disciplines – flat-water, indoor and coastal. Speaking about coastal, Saundersfoot in Wales did not disappoint with excitement for both for the endurance and the sprint events even with very challenging conditions. Learn from the best in Coastal rowing how to execute the different aspects of these events.
Whether you want to get fit or to compete successfully on the indoor rowing machine you need to know how to train. Eric Murray, a multiple Olympic gold medallist from New Zealand, will be joined by Mehdi Kordi, who is the physiologist to the Dutch cycling team but was a former rower and Henley winner.
Para Rowing have been doing research on classification and will outline the findings. The findings of the Junior rigging survey will be shared and the trends explained by Conny Draper, a leading rowing biomechanist.
Top names in the rowing world, including Gianni Postiglione, Peter Cookson or Nebojsa Ilic, will share their knowledge. An unique occasion to learn more about all aspects of the sport, while being at home. It’s open to anyone.
